Every bride wants to look and feel her best on her wedding day. While the dress and makeup are key parts of the big day, it is often said your makeup will only look as good as the skin it’s sitting on – that’s where we come in. But how early should you start prepping? Here’s our recommended timeline for scheduling aesthetic procedures like Botox, fillers, and skin services.
12 Months Out
Your journey to perfect bridal skin begins with a consultation with our experienced skincare and injectable specialists. We’ll discuss your skin concerns, wedding goals, budget, and ideal timeline for treatments. We will create a plan that includes a medical-grade skincare regimen, injectable plan, and any in-office treatments needed to address your specific goals.
Medical-Grade Skincare
- One of our ZO Skin Health Certified Experts will curate a custom skincare regimen to address your skins specific needs to meet your personal skin health goals.
- Because skincare products take time to develop results, we recommend starting this as soon as possible to ensure adequate time for results to fully develop!
Injectables
- Things like tox, biostimulators, and fillers need time to settle in and often need to be spaced out from each other and events that come along with being a bride. Our team will work with you to schedule your injectables around bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and the big day to ensure you look perfect at all the big events leading up to your wedding day!
In-Office Treatments
- Often, in-office treatments need to be done in a series over several months. While some brides may just need a hydrafacial right before the big day, others may need some laser treatments to address pigment or texture which can take time for results to develop.
6-9 Months Out
Laser treatments require a bit more planning because of downtime and the number of sessions you may need. Treatments like BBL (Broad Band Light) or Moxi Laser can address pigmentation, redness, and texture issues.
Laser Treatments
- Address sun spots, acne scars, and pigmentation.
- For Acne – BBL Forever Clear
- Several sessions a week to a month apart are recommended, so it is important to start early!
- For Pigment/Redness/Rosacea
- 3-6 treatments 1 month apart are typically needed to fully address concerns.
- For Texture – Moxi
- 3 treatments 1 month apart is recommended to perfectly polish the top layer of your skin to address any texture issues.
4-6 Months Out
SkinPen (microneedling) is a collagen-boosting treatment that helps with skin texture and fine lines. Facials can add hydration and a healthy glow. For best results, plan for monthly treatments to maintain progress.
- SkinPen Microneedling
- Major collagen boosting treatment which helps with texture, scarring, and fine lines.
- Plan for 3 sessions for optimal results, with the last being 2 weeks prior to your big day!
- Hydrafacials or Regular Facials
- Our providers will tailor these to your skins needs to ensure optimal results.
- Plan to do these once a month leading up to your big day, with the last one 3-4 days prior to your wedding day for the best glow!
2-3 Months Out
Injectables like tox, biostimulators, and dermal fillers are ideal for smoothing fine lines and plumping the skin. Tox typically takes 3 weeks to fully settle, while fillers provide instant volume but settle over time.
- Botox
- Smooths forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. Make sure to get your injections 8 weeks before the wedding to allow for any touch-ups that may be needed.
- Fillers
- Use fillers to add volume to cheeks or lips, or to add contour to your jawline.
- While results are immediate, there can be some swelling initially so best to do this 2-3 months before your big day to allow for swelling to subside and for the filler to fully integrate into your tissue so it looks its best.
- These typically last 6-12 months, so this timing ensures you look natural and fresh.
1-2 Weeks Out
As your wedding day approaches, focus on enhancing that final glow. This is the time for your last-minute facials or gentle chemical peels. Make sure your tox and fillers have settled by now and that any skin treatments have been done to avoid irritation.
Gentle Peels or Facials
- Depending on your skin needs at the time, we will recommend either a “no-peel” chemical peel to lightly exfoliate and give you a glow or a hydrating facial to ensure you don’t have any dryness on your wedding day!
- These can be done up to 2 weeks prior or even just a few days before your wedding!
